Hailing from humble beginnings, Quinn is a modest woman and earnest worker. Raised from a young age to work the family farm, Quinn has always busied herself with daily tasks and chores. Due to this, Quinn naturally finds herself at a loss when she absolutely has nothing to do.
Naturally curious, Quinn is typically found tinkering with various gadget and traps, dismantling and reassembling them from scratch. Although Quinn lives a rather practical lifestyle, she thrives best when she's able to think outside the box. She learns quickly through hands on experience and enjoys making use any new found skills in her work.
In uniform, Quinn is always sure to be on her best performance as a member of the Koben Military. She is respectful and diligent, sharp and brief. She keeps most people at an arm's length away, never revealing too much about herself or opening up in general. But despite the cool and no nonsense atmosphere that shrouds her, Quinn is always helpful and quipped with a kind smile.
In her private life, sticking true to her country bumpkin roots, Quinn is a bit gruff and brazen, not entirely concerned with being a prim and proper woman. Although knowledgeable with some years under her belt, Quinn is still a bit naive and often wears her heart on her sleeve to those she's comfortable with. Usually easygoing, although it's hard to get a rise out of her, Quinn is honest and outspoken on matters she feels strongly on. In spite of her skill as an enchanter, Quinn is mature enough to use her powers responsibly, never using them for any mischievous pranks. Although modest about her skills, Quinn takes some pride in her wit and field tactics, becoming fiercely competitive when challenged.
History:
Born to a young couple in Bratkowice, Quinn's early childhood was a bit of a haphazard one. Her parents were young and unmarried. Her father, a trader from Linhythe, was rarely around as she grew up with her mother and grandparents. As Quinn turned five years old, her parents ultimately separated due to distance. This didn’t bother the young girl too much as she never saw her father often enough to actually miss him.
Soon after the separation, her mother married a local livestock farmer. With promises of a new, warm, cozy family, little Quinn was excited for this new household life. But as soon as her baby brother was born the year after, all the attention was drawn to him and away from her. At first, it didn’t bother the girl too much, she had her books after all and her stepfather’s property to explore as well.
But as she got older and reached the age of ten, the number of siblings also increased from one to three, the time to play was over and her stepfather put her to work around the farm. The young Quinn found the sudden multitude of responsibilities to be refreshing and a chance to get praised like all her younger siblings. She continuously worked hard, learning new things along the way, along with haphazardly discovering her latent magic abilities. By the time she was sixteen, Quinn gained another two siblings.
When Quinn turned eighteen, she found out she wasn’t in line for inheriting the farm she worked so hard to help maintain. Finding out she wasn’t inheriting the land wasn’t the issue for her, Quinn was more upset that in her mind, this solidified the long years of doubt that she was never quite viewed as family. She was a de Drago after all, not a Zharov like the rest of her family. Despite her efforts, she knew she didn’t quite belong in this new, warm, cozy family her mother had promised years ago.
By the time her youngest brother was born, rather than being stuck in a home where she didn’t belong, Quinn decided to join the military to start a new life. Moving to Koben on her own, as she received a more proper education, Quinn also learned how to control her latent magical abilities on her own, honing and sharpening them along with other skills and assets suitable for wartime as time went on. Her wit and skill as an illusionist helped steadily pave her way through the ranks as a budding tactician for the Empire.
